Are you tired of your candles burning out too quickly or unevenly? or maybe you're looking for some tips on how to help your favourite candle last longer. Well look no further because I have got you covered
Here are some simple tips to properly burn your candle
1.
TRIM THE WICK BEFORE EVERY BURN
This step is one of the most important. Before you light your candle, ensure you trim your wick to approx 1/4 inch. This helps prevent excessive smoke & uneven burning.
2.
ALLOW THE CANDLE TO BURN ACROSS THE TOP
On the first burn allow the wax to melt as close to the edge of the container as possible. Wax has memory, if you blow the candle out before it reaches the full melt pool your candle will start tunnelling down the center. Depending on the size of your candle this should take on average 3-4hrs. Since The Fragrant Nest candles have multiple wicks it may only take 2-3hrs
3.
AVOID BLOWING OUT YOUR CANDLE
Instead use a candle snuffer or candle lid (if available) to extinguish the flame. This helps prevent excessive smoke & wax splatter. It also prevents the wick debris falling into the hot wax.
4.
NEVER LEAVE YOUR CANDLE BURN FOR MORE THAN 4 HOURS
Leaving your candle burn for long periods of time not only causes the candle holder to become too hot but it also starts burning off that beautiful scent. The best option is to extinguish the candle, let the wax completely set (min 2hrs) trim the wick again & relight to continue enjoying the scent.
5.
NEVER LEAVE YOUR CANDLE WITHIN REACH OF CHILDREN OR PETS
6.
PLACE YOUR CANDLES ON HEAT RESISTANT SURFACES & AWAY FROM ANYTHING THAT CAN CATCH FIRE.
The Geo candle lids can act as a great heat resistant surface. You can also purchase the Oval tray as a heat resistant surface for the oval candles
7.
KEEP OUT OF DRAFTS
if there are drafts in a room then this can cause your candle to burn unevenly.
